On the morning of December 8, Dr. Ferrante Neri, an international expert in computational intelligence and optimization from the University of Nottingham, UK, and Dr. Prithwineel Paul, an international expert in mathematics and intelligent computing, were invited to give online academic lectures to the School of Control Engineering.

The topic of Dr. Ferrante Neri's lecture is "Teaching Mathematics to Educate Future AI Researchers". Dr. Neri shared and introduced the mathematical skills and engineering applications that artificial intelligence researchers need to prepare. The theme of Dr. Prithwineel Paul's lecture is "On Some Applications of Membrane Computing". The report introduces the application of membrane computing model in solving real-world problems such as power system fault diagnosis, robot navigation, and optimization problems.
