On the morning of June 8, the International Joint Research Institute of Robotics and IntelligenceSystem launched the eighth international academic exchange activity. Professor William Levine, a lifetime professor of the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering at the University of Maryland, a world master of optimal control theory, a Life Fellow of the International IEEE Association, and a recipient of the Millennium Medal, was invited to give an academic report to the teachers and students in the International Conference Hall of our school. He held a wonderful lecture on "Human Posture Control". Before the lecture, Professor Zhou Jiliu, Secretary of the Party Committee of the university, issued a letter of appointment to William Levine as a visiting professor of control science and engineering.

Issue letter of appointment

In this lecture, Professor Levine introduced some of his scientific research achievements: a mathematical model is designed to reproduce the behavioral criterion of posture balance in biomechanical systems, and the kinematic mechanics in posture balance is studied and explained; the reference model predictive control method is used to solve the delay problem; the tensor model is proposed to describe the complex biomechanical system and so on. He discussed the application of nonlinear estimation, energy testing, and optimal control, and described further research directions in this field.
